Developing Positive Habits

Some tips for at-home hygiene for kids include:
- Help them brush for two minutes, twice a day, and floss as soon as two teeth touch each other
- Continue to monitor habits even after your child begins brushing on their own (around age 7)
- Use fluoride toothpaste to strengthen tooth enamel and help prevent cavities
- Implement a progress chart if you meet resistance brushing and flossing -- add a sticker for each day they succeed and set small rewards as you see fit (for 1 week of good habits, for example)
